Tobias graduated from Ohio University in 2002. Coming to college after playing junior hockey, he began to walk with the Lord through being part of a men's bible study. During those years, he developed a heart for reaching out to college students and still loves coming alongside college men and helping them grow in their relationship with God and learning how to build God’s kingdom. This desire led him to join CRU staff. After serving at Ohio U for 7 years, he moved his family to Mount Pleasant, Michigan to serve as the team leader at Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University where he currently still serves. Tobias loves all sports but particularly anything involving snow and all things ice hockey!
Becky graduated from Ohio University in 1998. Upon graduation, she worked in the field of social work, caring for families and children by providing intervention and services to help families thrive. In 2002, she joined staff with CRU as she believed there was nothing more worthy of her life than investing in students and helping them figure out God’s unique giftings in their lives in order to make an eternal impact. Becky loves hosting but if she isn’t with people, you will find her in a cozy spot reading a book! Since 2009, Becky has served alongside her husband Tobias in ministry at CMU while raising their three children- Calvin, Titus and Lucy.
Jacob Wershing graduated from Ohio University and immediately came to Central Michigan. Not only is CMU where Jacob met Elizabeth, his wife, but it's also where God called them into ministry. He has been serving now for several years and currently co-leads the Mid-Michigan Team. Jacob is passionate about reaching college men and students from various ethnic backgrounds. He loves to learn from students as much as he loves to teach them. He longs for every student he encounters to fall in love with the Bible. If you want to make Jacob's day invite him to play a board game or to a friendly game of basketball!
Elizabeth Wershing was a student at CMU in 2009 when the Keyes moved to Mount Pleasant to relaunch CRU at Central Michigan. Her passion is for college women, who like her, are just trying to figure out how to walk with God while doing school. She loves to bake, and she particularly loves to bake for college students. They have two wonderful children Charlie and Rosemary. But they also do foster care, so don't be surprised to walk into a full and lively home when you visit.
Sean Riley graduated from Central Michigan University in 2013. His experience with Cru radically changed his life which is why he and his wife Kara joined Cru staff. The friends he met in his Cru Bible studies are still some of his best friends to this day! He hopes to help college students experience the Lord and community in the same way he did. Sean is our tech guru, often serving behind the scenes. Sean loves time out in the woods, board games and disc golf.
Kara Riley graduated from Central Michigan University in 2013. Over the four years in college, her love for the Lord deepened and her desire to read His Word grew. She wants to help create the same life changing community she experienced and help students love the Lord for a lifetime. Kara loves having deep conversations, preferably over a cup of tea! The Rileys have 2 sweet children- Asher and Evelyn.
Haley Wing graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2016. She is passionate about seeing students of all ages living for Christ while they are in school, in their workplace, with their families, and beyond. She wants to equip students with the tools they can use to follow Christ for a lifetime. Haley is married to Geoff who is the director of student ministries at their church. She loves spending time with family and friends especially when it involves walks in the park, bonfires, relaxing, or games. Haley also loves meeting new people and hosting them at their home. The Wings have one little boy named Gordon whom they adore.
